commissions
Recently I’ve been asked to create a specific landscape either in textile or ceramic. Whilst I prefer to work from life,during lockdown I produced two commissions from photographs. The landscapes often have a real emotional significance to the client and I feel a sense of responsibility to capture the essence of the place. Brassington, Derbyshire 2020
The project was to celebrate my husband’s birthday, we both loved the picture we had already bought from Zoe and I wanted to use a favourite local scene of his, as the inspiration. Zoe used carefully chosen fabrics and papers to create different impressions, from which I was able to choose the arrangement I liked best. It was actually quite difficult to choose, as all her suggestions were fabulous.
The end result is a unique, bespoke and beautiful picture, which we both enjoy looking at. It was an exciting process and we are delighted with the result. Thank you Zoe, we have a stunning, striking individual piece of art in our home.

Arran has always had a special place in my heart, it’s where my parents spent their honeymoon, where many of my childhood holidays were happily spent and where we finally scattered my Dads ashes. To have this then portrayed in such a unique way by Zoe, a good friend I spent my school years with at Bredbury Comp made it even more special!

Simon’s Seat, Wharfedale, Yorkshire 2021
‘’Rich proposed on Simon’s seat. We had spent many weekends in the Yorkshire Dales when we lived in Leeds, it is such a special part of the world for us. A time when we were young and free!
17 years of marriage and 2 children later and I had always looked out for a special artwork to remind us of this beautiful place but never really found anything that could capture it for us.
I had seen some of Zoe’s amazing work and asked her to recreate our place for us with ceramics. She kept us in the loop and asked our opinion along the way. She has captured something for us which is unique, amazing, creative and we are so grateful.’’
