Clay, fabric, wire, paper and stitch have a real physicality about them, especially when combined. I love that people want to touch my work in order to understand the contrasting surfaces. In porcelain I have found a material which can behave like paper or fabric but eventually become incredibly strong. My abstract pieces are explorations of colour and shape through playful experiments with (often recycled) fabric, wool and silk alongside and within delicate porcelain forms. The abstract pieces are based on natural form yet often have personal significance based on life experiences.
